Sanctuary of Truth
Visiting: Pattaya, Sanctuary of Truth or Vihan Sajjadham
Duration: 5 hours
For culture lovers wanting a taste of Thailand’s rich architectural gems, join us for a half-day guided tour of the magnificent Sanctuary of Truth, or Vihan Sajjadham. Located 100km southeast of Bangkok in the city of Pattaya, this remarkable temple-like structure sits on a rocky outcrop by the sea at Laem Ratchawet.
The Sanctuary of Truth was built using traditional Thai building methods in a Khmer style of architecture. It is held together with wooden pegs and adorned with highly ornate wooden carvings, that reflect both Buddhist and Hindu beliefs. It is an ongoing contemporary project, designed to promote visionary artwork that draws on traditional beliefs and knowledge.
After visiting the Sanctuary of Truth, your tour will continue with a drive through Pattaya City and a visit to the Royal Garden Plaza. Here you will have time to shop in its small boutiques and souvenir shops, or grab a coffee at one of its restaurants. It’s then time to head back towards Bangkok and your port of call.
